American Shoffel wins gold at Olympic golf tournament

A silver medal was won by a representative of Slovakia, a bronze medalist was an athlete from Taiwan

TOKYO, August 1 / American golfer Xander Schoffel won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Schoffel scored 266 points. Rory Sabbatini of Slovakia won silver (267). Pan Chengcong from Taiwan became the bronze medalist.

Golf competition returned to the Olympic program in 2016. Prior to this, the last men’s golf tournament was held at the Games in 1904. In total, at the Olympic golf competitions, the Americans won four gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

The Olympics will end on August 8.
